you've still skipped over steps you have taken required for anyone to help you with your problem.
from the wiki:
Once you have downloaded BackTrack, you should check the validity of the downloaded file using md5sum. This will allow you to eliminate the most common problem encountered by BackTrack users - badly downloaded (corrupt) ISO files. To check the MD5 sum of your downloaded ISO, use the md5sum command:
root@bt:~# md5sum bt5-kde-32.iso
BackTrack 5 ISO md5sums are summarized here for your convenience.
BT5-KDE-64.torrent KDE 64bit md5sum: 80d65610de90ac7ede49b9f7935dfdd2
BT5-KDE-32.torrent KDE 32bit md5sum: 4150643026d292717f77ebb83948a034
BT5-GNOME-64.torrent GNOME 64bit md5sum: 75c4e7a969abc873d9e085656b156345
BT5-GNOME-32.torrent GNOME 32bit md5sum: b01a93a916fabb6d1640bd0054428e17
also, after comparing md5sums; something most would recommend is to rule out your dvd media and possible image burn errors, since you have stated you already have a functional pendrive with bt3 os on it. use unetbootin to deliver the bt5 iso to your pendrive and at that point start looking for possible problems with the box. you probably won't have any. defective dvd-r media and/or buffer underrun errors during burning may be your problem.
