Boot then restarts then boots then restarts

so i FINALLY got backtrack to work- i thought (i had a problem w/ some faulty RAM messing EVERYTHING up on my comp) anyway,

the backtrack boot menu pops up with various options, i opt for default,
Loading something
Loading something ..... Done

Yes! I thought anticipating my new toy

No, restart

Backtrack boot menu, choose a different build
Loading something.......
Loading something..........Done

Yes!

No, computer restarts

no matter which i choose, the computer reboots into the backtrack boot menu.

Any suggestions?

Btw, i am running on a Vaio (dual boot w7 and ubuntu)
backtrack 5 is on a 4GB Flash Drive. Thanks

someone told me that it could be a hardware issue?
i'll try it on a different computer later today...
