I was reading the beginning of this thread. I followed the exact original steps with my atheros based card and I am logged onto my own network with a confirmed MAC of 00:11:22:33:44:55
The only difference might have been that i used wlanassistant at first to originally set everything up. then did all the other stuff.
Was the problem using a mac address already taken or what?
not for users like me who always have the last post in first.........

Yea..those dang Atheros cards are a pain for spoofing sometimes. When I first started this thread several months ago..I thought it was damn near impossible. hey guys just want to say thanks for the hard work you put into the faked mac internet access, though new to the forums i have used BT2 before and this information certainly speeds up the learning process. Not to necessarily bring an old thread to life as i know concentration is now on BT3 but just to say thanks. I know it can be frustrating but as -=Xploitz=- stated, not impossible and to confirm both my alfa and ath card faked mac 00:11:22:33:44:55 (or any other mac) connect after dhcpcd dev. Thanks again peeps.

BTW you have to do these commands in BT3 as well.
