Default Install Backtrack 5 on USB stick

I have installed Backtrack 5 on USB stick using LinuxLive USB Creator.

Now when I click Install Backtrack on desktop, after click forward 5 steps, I could not find partition for USB stick.

    It shows partitions of

    /dev/sda1 ntfs 208mb
    /dev/sda2 ntfs 305239mb
    /dev/sda3 ntfs 14514mb
    /dev/sda4 fat32 108mb

Do I need to mount the USB stick before Install Backtrack? If so how?

    Thanks

Please consult the readme of the LinuxLive USB Creator.

The installation shouldn't be any different from the installation of Ubuntu for instance.

The USB will most likely be listed as sdb
    mkdir /mnt/sdb*
    mount /dev/sdb* /mnt/sdb*

do you mean that when you run backtrack5 from the usb stick as a live install (that's what linuxlive made) that you are trying to double click the 'install backtrack' shortcut that exists on the backtrack desktop?

that 'install backtrack' shortcut is only for installing backtrack to a hard disk. if you try to install backtrack to the usb stick, you would be installing it to the media that you booted from (which already has backtrack5 running!)

I dont think persistence works on Backtrack 5 using Linuxlive USB Creator as have read guidelines that it only works on selected Linux and also it says
this feature is currently not working when using VirtualBox in Seven/Vista.

LinuxLive USB Creator have two possibilities, first one is to boot Linux directly in Windows (=virtualization), second one is to boot PC from USB stick which I am looking for.

Unetbootin only to boot Backtrack 5 from USB stick but dont think it will boot Backtrack in Windows (Virtualbox) ?

Is there another software that will do both and works in persistence to save data?

If I understand your question it seems you are trying to install BT persistent from a BT live usb stick onto the same stick so no luck for you.

Boot BT from a dvd, vmware iso boot or usb stick and then connect the usb you want to install to into the live. Follow the instructions from sickness's post below to install to the usb.
