    Sounds like you have switchable graphics (aka hybrid graphics) on your laptop.

    Reamer's advice is probably best, but check out this thread for tons of info on hybrid graphics and linux: http://www.backtrack-linux.org/forum...tml#post203995

    If you're unfamiliar with hybrid graphics, type "lspci | grep VGA" in the command line, and if there are two VGA controllers, you can bet you have switchable graphics.
