    Default No wireless internet connection

Sorry for reposting an already posted thread subject, but the solutions on that thread didn't work for me. I'm running BT5 on a Dell Latitude D600, and Wicd isn't picking up anything. I tried ifconfig, followed by ifconfig wlan0 up, and /etc/init.d/wicd start. the wlan0up was flagged with "No such device", and the wicd start was ok'd but nothing happened

At first, do you have a VMware or native installation?

    Next which chipset?

What's the result of lsusb? Is your device showing up?

Running BT in VMware will not allow you to take advantage of many of your host physical devices (wireless card, graphics card, etc). You can, however, use some USB wifi devices. Check out http://www.backtrack-linux.org/forum...tibility-list/

Sorry to bother but this is the only way to get to you and ask you a question.

I have problem with my USB wireless antenna in BackTrack 5. I have REALTEK RTL8187L wireless USB antenna and I do not know how to start?
When I type ''start networking'' show me ''networking stop/waiting''.

When I type ''airmon-ng'' show me
    Interface Chipset Driver

    wlan1 Realtek RTL8187L rtl8187 - [phy0]

When I type ''iwconfig'' show me

    lo no wireless extensions.

    eth1 no wireless extensions.

    wlan1 IEEE 802.11bg ESSID:off/any
    Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=off
    Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
    Encryption key:off
    Power Management:off

When I type ''rfkill list'' show me
    Wireles lan
    soft blocked: no
    hard blocked: yes

    I started etc/init.d/wicd start

When type ''airmon-ng start wlan1'' show me

Found 1 processes that could cause trouble.
If airodump-ng, aireplay-ng or airtun-ng stops working after
a short period of time, you may want to kill (some of) them!

    PID Name
    813 dhclient3

    Interface Chipset Driver

    wlan1 Realtek RTL8187L rtl8187 - [phy0]SIOCSIFFLAGS: Unknown error 132

    (monitor mode enabled on mon0)
Then I type ''airodump-ng mon0'' and show me
    Interface mono0:
    ioctl(SIOCGIFINDEX) failed: No such device
    root@bt:~# airodump-ng mon0
    ioctl(SIOCSIFFLAGS) failed: Unknown error 132
    root@bt:~# lsusb
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
    Bus 001 Device 002: ID 1b75:8187
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

    What I to do??
sorry for reposting but I need help.
