Default connection to X server lost

Running BT5 KDE 32 on USB stick in eeepc.
I keep getting connection to X server lost and have to do startx again to get going.
Can't pin it down to any action but the latest time was when I inserted a SDHC card and Dolphin auto loaded and server crashed. I will try and monitor further instances.
