Trying BT install on 4GB USB stick - hangs!

I tried to follow the instructions found on here elsewhere, where I copy all the contents of the CD to the stick and then make the boot sector on the USB stick.
So far, so good: the laptop boots from it, but already on the second line it hangs:
/boot/initrd.gz gets stuck after 2 secs

That's the RAM disk, so not sure what the problem might be... Does anyone else have an idea?

This is actually was an easy fix for me. I first had a BT on a CD, then I used WinISO to extract the 'boot' and 'BT' folders to my USB stick after it was formatted. Then I booted up BT from the CD on my computer, then plugged in the USB stick with the two folders.
After that I just opened the Konsole and opened up an explorer to find the the 'bootinstall.sh'. I just dragged and dropped it into Konsole, pressed Enter and I was done.
Take out the CD, and boot from the STICK.

I have b2final.iso from the remote-exploit site.

Also, I have downloaded the BT2USB4WINvi18n-MULTI23-RC1.exe from the sourceforge web site.

I have installed this program on the XP SP2 clean machine.

My USB device it is Verbatim, 2.0 Gb, Vista ready.

I have running the installed program, following the specified steps.

The host hardware machine was: HP Compaq dc7700 Ultra-slim Desktop PC.

The prepared USB NT2.0 need to function on the HP NC8230 laptop.

For me, using the BT2-to-WIN utility work great in this case, the USB was prepared correctly and the BT works very well.

Maybe these can help somebody because using the specifications from the web site and from the forums for me became a really pain in the brain.
