BT 5 install on SD card has any one got it working

I am trying to install BT5 onto SDHC (8GB) card without success.
I am running BT5 on a USB stick and I have tried every thing I can. Every thing seems OK until I try to boot the sd card and all I get is grub>.
Tried grub command line but cant find vmlinuz or grub.cfg so I guess the install failed.
Has any one done this and if so could you point me in the right direction.

I got BT5 x64 Gnome working on a 32Gb SDHC card (yes, overkill, I know). I had to try a couple of times with Unetbootin but it finally took and did a HD install from there. You might want to try other USB installers such as LinuxLive (I don't recall the other utilities names, but there was one mentioned in another thread that actually lists BT5 as a supported distribution).

I have tried Unetbooting with 32 bit KDE using windows and Ubuntu but will try again now I know that it will work.
I have been trying unetbooting to make a USB stick without success finally managed using Universal USB installer (I think that what its called)

Just as an experiment, try one of the gnome images. I tried KDE many, many times on SDHC card and had absolutely no luck until I tried gmone.

I'm gui flavor agnostic and don't care if it's gnome of KDE, I was just happy to get it installed.

Just tried gnome 32 bit and when I boot my SDHC I get a blue menu window headed Unetbootin with one item call Default and it wont do anything.
My setup
Running BT5 from USB stick on eeepc with Gnome32.iso on another USB HDD (sdd2) (my net book does not have a hard drive or DVD)
My 8gb SDHC card partitioned 6 + 2 gb (sdc1 and sdc2 and is mounted)
I then run Unetbooting from the BT5 menu and it appears OK. (apt-get update & upgrade was run first )
btw my netbook is the only machine I have that will handle SDHC cards

Thanks hypervista your suggestion worked and it boots fine but the problem now is no disk space when I try to save anything.
Using 8 Gb SDHC partitioned 6 + 2Gb

Started again with KDE 32 bit and this installed OK (failed at least twice previously ) Boots OK but same problem No disk space.
Checked space partition 1 32% used and partition 2 3% used.
Tried chmod
Any ideas please

I am going to get a 16 gb SD card but in the meantime I have got it running on a 8gb SD but it wont save anything. I am running on an 8gb USB stick without any problems so I don't know why I cant save any data on the SD version. After failed attempt to shut down because it cant save the SD card wont reboot.

I have a silly question and in no way is it intended to insult, but did you make your installation persistent? You can use these persistence instructions. As you will see, they indicate that while you can install persistence on a 8GB device you'll essentially be out of space and therefore a minimum of 16Gb is recommended. Of course you needn't go through the full-disk encryption steps if you don't want that, but you can get persistence up and running with the attached instructions. Good luck.

Did you check if the SD card has the same mount point as it did when you installed Backtrack. I used an SD card in Backtrack 4 pre days. During the install sd card was sdb and when I booted from the SD card it was recognized as sda. I think it is better to use UUID.
