ok, im totally new to this, hardly know anything about it at all, but i want to learn, now when i login as root, and try "startx" i get (no screens found)

i do have nvidia 7300 GS and have heard it may cause a problem?

i tried something like sudo cp /etc/x11/xorg.conf /etc/x11/xorg.backup but it wouldnt work, didnt find the directory and told me to try cp --help lol...

so.. Please can you explain how i fix this in the Dumbest possible way? really really simples... im thick

mount point is "/" if that helps? ext4 filesystem. (dunno if it makes a difference)
