Chinese meanings in backtrack images

This one means Brave and Determination.



But this one doesn't make sense at all. The first one is not recognize or it's not even in the Chinese language. Second means Endure. Third means Shock. Forth means Cunning. Those terms doesn't make sense to me at least. So why was it put there? Not just to look beautiful.

My wife suspects the first character translates to "Strong".
The symbol is very old and stumped her for a bit.
My Korean wife reads and writes Chinese (traditional and simplified) /Japanese and Korean.
Traditionally, they all (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) share nearly the same character set, but the Koreans began using their own alphabet about 200 years ago.

Of course this still does not explain what they mean together...
