BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller Live CD

I was just wondering why my wireless networking card, a BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller, works perfect off the Live CD of BT5 but after I install it doesn't even recognize that the card is there?

I am forum hunting for a way to get it going again but was just curious as to why my fresh install couldn't even see my wireless card where the live cd used my card to crack a wep wireless signal.

This chipset should work fine, unless you enable ndiswrapper or something. Did you try ifconfig and see if it is listed under wlan0? Usually you need to either reinstall wicd or create a startup link for wicd-client to work and recognize this card; but if your used to doing things manually, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Again, check your /etc/network/interfaces file and make sure you have wlan0 setup, and if so; then maybe check conflicting modules (modprobe modules and blacklist) like ssb, ndiswrapper, b43, etc. Mine is working fine in BT5 gnome amd64. sudo iwconfig <settings> then dhclient wlan0...
