Airssl/FakeAP DHCP Issue

Hi There,

I think this is a problem that other people have come accross but as of yet nobody has fixed.

I am running Airssl (version 2.0) to create a fake AP.

For some reason certain clients cannot obtain an IP address from the DHCP server yet other clients can. This leads me to believe that the issue is not with the DHCP server configuration but with the AP chipset. I am using a AWUS036H wifi card.

My MacBook Pro, Samsung Netbook and Android cellphone cannot connect but everything else can.

Confused

Anybody have any suggestions on what to try next?

First, Airssl is a user-script, so asking the author would be wise, and BT team probably won't support it. AS for DHCP issues with this script, search the BT4 forums, it has been widely discussed. And I remember a lot of problems with Mac and DHCP. As for the rest, I don't know !

About the AP chipset... I believe the 036H has AP support ! (I can be wrong though, you'd better check )

you need to reinstall dhcp with apt-get.
