Trouble with channel frequency (cannot associate?!)
've successfully associated to the AP, but I cannot ping anything, and cannot navigate.
I've noticed (using iwconfig) that the frequency is always different between each "iwconfig":
bt ~ # iwconfig ath0
ath0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"thenet" Nickname:""
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.442 GHz Access Point: 00:16:B6:xx:xx:xx
Bit Rate:1 Mb/s Tx-Power:31 dBm Sensitivity=0/3
Retry:off RTS thr: off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:0875-6513-1923-3456-7893-5619-66 Security mode:open
Power Management:off
Link Quality=17/94 Signal level=-79 dBm Noise level=-96 dBm
Rx invalid nwid: 0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries: 0 Invalid misc: 0 Missed beacon:0
bt ~ # iwconfig ath0
ath0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"thenet" Nickname:""
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.417 GHz Access Point: 00:16:B6:xx:xx:xx
Bit Rate:1 Mb/s Tx-Power:31 dBm Sensitivity=0/3
Retry:off RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:0875-6513-1923-3456-7893-5619-66 Security mode:open
Power Management: off
Link Quality=17/94 Signal level=-78 dBm Noise level=-95 dBm
Rx invalid nwid: 0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag: 0
Tx excessive retries: 0 Invalid misc: 0 Missed beacon: 0
As you cann see the Frequency is 2.442 GHz , and doing another iwconfig shows that the frequency is 2.417 Ghz
This is the output of "top" (i didn't notice any program that could change the channel):
bt ~ # top

What's wrong!?
There's no mac filter on the router.

You are not associated to AP. The card is hopping on channels trying to find the AP. Iwconfig status is somehow misleading, maybe its the bug in madwifi-ng.
I don't see it in the action , so don't know the reason, but
if you have any ath1 : wlanconfig ath1 destroy
try aswell ifconfig ath0 down , ifconfig ath0 up.
Try different key, look at it careful.

Thanks for the reply.
I've checked everything, and everything is ok.
Since there's no mac filter, what can prevent the association?!
