Default Mysql - Java - Armitage

Dear all, first let me say congrats on a excellent new version with exceptional good looking interface, by far my favorite distro so far.

    Now..

I seem to have issues with either java, mysql or armitage.

When running mysql start i get this message

ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

I can start armitage initial, but cannot start armitage itself by connect.
The message that pops up are

    java.net.SocketTimeoutException:Read time out

when trying to start msf this error occurs

    java.io.IOException: authentication error

i have tried login root / password toor
also tried login msf / password toor

so there is almost certain something that i have done wrong, not a bug in general i hope, could then anybody guide me in the right direction?

    kind regards
    Tom

To start mysql, try the command:
    Code:
    service mysql start
The default username for mysql is root and the default password is toor. You should also have a look at the thread here: http://www.backtrack-linux.org/forum...ne-server.html
because many of us have had problems mysql in BT5 and this fixes it!

Seems like there is something wrong with ruby, mysql and postgresql in BT5, no matter how much I try or follow directions it msf cannot seem to connect to anything at all.
It isn´t there at all, not even on a complete reinstall of BT GNOME 32bit

    how is that?

    no need to start mysql.

    #msfgui
start the msfrpcd on the gui
check connection for password as it will be different when u run "armitage" from console
replace test with the password given by gui
exit the gui with out stopping the msfrpcd
    #armitage
    done !
