    Default new splash screen

    Hi,

    I dont really like the red wallpaper so i changed it into the pitch black one.
    But this doesnt change the splash screen.
    Is there any easy possibility to change the bootsplash and the normal splash screen (after startx)?

    You can change the normal splash screen after startx, as follows
    [Settings] --> [System Settings]
    Select [WorkSpace Apperance] icon --> Select [Splash Screen] --> select SimpleSmall or any other Screen Theme

    BTW, how do u change the Red BackTrack 5 wall paper?

    I actually like the Backtrack splash screen. I just dont like the colours. Is there a possibility to edit it e.g. with gimp and then use it. I cant find where the splash screens and their images are saved in.

    Changing the background: right click on desktop -> folder view settings

    Actually, you can find another backtrack background color in file system -> usr -> share -> wallpapers.

    Im just wondering how the boot splash is made b/c i liked the 800x600 one... Now every time I go down in the framebuffer to a 800x600 resolution so i can use the cli to log in i have to scroll down in vmware. It's not a problem but it sure would be nice to have that boot splash... I use to like fix-splash800 but its no longer there and now we are stuck with only fix-splash for higher resolutions then 800x600. I use a lot of the 800x600 its just less annoying.

    I did try the ubuntu-tweak but it doesn't let you teak much in KDE. And the website that you are mentioning doesn't work for me. What does work for me is this one. http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-ins...ucid-lynx.html
    If some one where to show me where that boot splash is at in BackTrack that would be grate. I can take it from there.

    Does anyone know how to change the resolution permanently? Every time I change the screen resolution in KDE (via "Disply and Monitor") and it went back to the default 800x600 size after re-boot. BTW, how about the BackTrack 5 wall paper?

    Anyone else notice when loading, some screens say "the quieter you become, the more you are able to hear" and some say "the quieter you are, the more you are able to hear"?
