flash player no sound

how are you? I have a problem
and can not find the solution, I read all forum topics
i install flash player reading this, http://www.backtrack-linux.org/forum...e-kde-x64.html
and everything works fine except the sound, I can not hear the audio from videos
anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

PS: the sound works fine in all other applications!

well i had the same problem:
i resolved looking on the defalut panel
and rightclicking on Kmix--> select master channel --> PCM (my vol was 0 by defalut btw ç_ç)
i had also a probl with E1371(or waterver it was) so i've setted audio cards in a different way
in the KDE system propz.

I also have the same issue. I can hear audio with my Logitech Headphones, but not in Flash... Weird. Are there any logs I can post that might help me provide information about my system to a Backtrack sage?

Yep its the PCM in KMix, it's set 0 as default.

You'll get system sounds and your platback from amarok and alike but nothing in the browser.

Some people have gone to extremes of re-installing firefox & flashplayer to no avail, unaware it can fixed with 3 clicks of the mouse button.

You Sir are a genius. I tried everything to get this thing working, thought it was down to the flash player being installed wrong I bypassed that by just using chrome instead as its pre installed. Fiddled with KMIX added new files I was told by others to no success. I even changed the channels but obviously I missed the PCM.

I take my hat off to you sir for offering the simple solution to a problem that many people have and do 100's of tasks to get it to work.

Hi, I also have this problem, the audio works with the rest of the applications but not with the flash player how do I set the main channel and the mixer. As a system of reproduction using headphones Logitech USB Headset 350.

Hey I think I have this same problem... My start up sound and amarok music all plays back through my speakers however if I want to listen to anything in my browser like youtube videos and such I have to use headphones. I tried right clicking on Kmix and selecting pcm as the default channel to no avail. Is there something I'm missing or anything else I have to do??? SIDENOTE: my system is setup using hdmi sound from my graphics card

Try raising the levels of all the other channels under advanced.

I also did these
chown root.root libflashplugin.so (wherever it's copied to)
chmod 775 libflashplugin.so (wherever it's copied to)

and I installed libxine1-ffmpeg and alsa.

then rebooted just in case.

whatever it was fixed that.

you can also do this plus the link below to uninstall flash and firefox and reinstall on 64-bit. might work if the above solutions didn't. obviously just change the 6-bit links to 32-bit versions if you're using 32-bit.

# aptitude purge flashplugin-nonfree flashplugin-installer gnash gnash-common mozilla-plugin-gnash swfdec-mozilla
# rm -f /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so
# rm -f /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so
# rm -f /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/flashplugin-alternative.so
# rm -f /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/npwrapper*flash*so
# rm -f ~/.mozilla/plugins/*flash*so
