    Exclamation Problems with NVIDIA GT250 Installation

    Hi everyone,

    these are my information

    * Backtrack 5 32 bit
    * Virtual Box (Version Ubuntu)
    * Already Donwloaded NVIDIA-Linux-x86-270.41.06.run from www.NVIDIA.com.au

    However when i try and install the driver, i first receive a message stating that
    " You do not appear to have an NVIDIA GPU supported by the 270.40 NVIDIA Linux graphic driver installed in this system'

    i then press Ok and recieve the term and conditions with 'Accept', ' Do not Accept'. I Press Accept and it starts building the Kernel. However when it reaches 100% i recieve another message stating
    'unable to load the kernel module 'nvidia.ko'. this happens most frequently when this kernel module was built against the wrong or improperly configured kernel sources, with a version of gcc that differs from the one used to build the target kernel.........' and when i press ok i receive a message stating installation failed.

    i have tried EVERYTHING to FIX this Problem but no success

    try this boy
    after having a net connection
    type in console

    prepare-kernel-sources

    cd /usr/src/linux
    cp -rf include/generated/* include/linux/

    chmod +x nvidiafilename (you got it from www.nvidia.com > driver download and select yours )

    log out and run the following command (before you startx)

    If you have bt running in a virtual machine the nvidia driver will not be recognized but you will have an emulated display card.
