Unless a decent package manager already exists within BT5; but I can't find one.
Hey folks,
I'm using the 32bit Gnome version of BT5. I'm wondering if I can achieve these things (as this distro is based on Ubuntu)
1. Install Ubuntu 11.04 and install BT5 tools and settings afterwards (via a simple command or script). Yes, I expect there are some unpleasant limitations to this so I don't expect an answer
OR modify the default BT5 install thusly:
1. Load GUI by default and login that way and/or auto login.
2. Install Ubuntu's software center and/or APT and/or synaptic.
Basically I'm loving BT5 A LOT but I want it to be just a tad more user-friendly. I also want to add more software to the install the way I'm accustomed to.
Unless a decent package manager already exists within BT5; but I can't find one.
To have a graphical login, just install gdm and run it in startup:
Then, edit /etc/rc.local, and add a line BEFORE "exit 0" like this:Code:aptitude update aptitude install gdm
This is not the best way, but run!Code:service gdm start. This must work running "update-rc.d gdm defaults", but this way fail.

Oh neat, I've been trying apt-get commands but no luck. I'll try the suggestions above when I get home from work.
Thanks for the help folks.
