System will not boot unless you add radeon.modeset=0 to kernel line (white screen of death)
After it boots with the default video card module, you will sometimes get lockups when you do things like minimize konsole or maximize it. This appears to be a known bug. I downloaded 11-05 ati-drivers and was successfully able to install it on the 64bit kde version without issues - after preparing the kernel (there is another thread here on how to do that under fixes section). I had to reboot to cleanly load the fglrx module otherwise you will get flashing background.
All other hardware works, including wireless, wired, and web cam (for those late night jobs away from home)
