Penetration Testing course info

hello everyone
i just wanted to know how many hours are the vidoes in the course
i'm intrested in taking it but it will be done after work hours, and was wondering if 30 days of lab time is enough if i dedicate 1 or 2 hours a day for the lacture.

any info is appriciated

I'm assuming you are referring to the 'Penetration Testing with BackTrack' course hosted by Offensive Security. The videos provided by them total about 8 hours in length, and you also get a ~350 page PDF lab guide. The average time to complete the basic exercises is 80 hours - but that will obviously depend on your technical background.

80+6 hours spread over 720 hours (30 day window) is perfectly reasonable to achieve.

so i need about 3 hours a day to complete the 88 hours in 30 days. that's assuming i fully understand the lessons without the need to repeat them

with work and family it's a bit hard to spare 3 hours a day ...hmm maybe i should look into the 60 day lab

one more thing...does the course get upgraded with every new release of backtrack? will it be upgraded to a new version once Kali is released?

No. They do have revisions of the course, but these revisions don't correlate with BackTrack releases. Whether or not they will have a new version once Kali is released is anyone's guess at the moment.
