    Default Nvidia 64 drivers / Cuda and pyrit

    Jenbo just posted this but since I wrote it up already and he left out a few steps excuse the double.

    First things first, if you get errors when you do startx youll need to delete 4 files
    Code:
    cd ~/.kde/cache-root && rm icon-cache.kcache plasma_theme_Volatile.kcache
    cd ~/.kde/cache-bt && rm icon-cache.kcache plasma_theme_Volatile.kcache
    Now we need ssl devs and kernel headers
    Code:
    apt-get install libssl-dev linux-headers-2.6.38
    Go here http://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-toolkit-40 and grab these 2 files
    "Developer Drivers for Linux (270.40)" and "CUDA Toolkit for Ubuntu Linux 10.10"

    chmod them and throw them in the /tmp, then "End Session" because we need to do it from cli

    For the driver we need to point to the headers
    Code:
    ./devdriver_4.0_linux_64_270.40.run --kernel-source-path /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.38
    Then do the toolkit "no need for headers .. enjoy the matrix "

    Before you boot back into X you need to delete the same 4 files from the top!

    To install pyrit we have to switch to python27 with
    Code:
    python-switcher --python27
    Now just grab pyrit and make cpyrit first
    Code:
    svn checkout http://pyrit.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ pyrit
    To make sure its workin just run pyrit list_cores

    Cheers

    edit: Its working but I still get the mismatch error. (getting 23000kps)

    Thanks for putting up the info.

    Im getting a segmentation fault. Any ideas?
    I got it before and after changing python versions

    Code:
    Collected all necessary data to mount crack against WPA2/PSK passphrase.
    Starting dictionary attack. Please be patient.
    Using STDIN for hashfile contents.
    /usr/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/cpyrit/cpyrit.py:63: UserWarning: WARNING: Version mismatch between <module 'cpyrit._cpyrit_cpu' from '/usr/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/cpyrit/_cpyrit_cpu.so'> ('0.4.1-dev (svn r308)') and <module 'cpyrit._cpyrit_cuda' from '/usr/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/cpyrit/_cpyrit_cuda.so'> ('0.4.0')

    I had it working perfectly on 32

    I wanted to make a side note. This worked perfectly for me by the way, but after I went through a cold boot, I could not pull up Wicd anymore. From what I could tell, it was an error that had to do with setting the default version of python to 2.7. Once I set it back to 2.6 it worked fine. I am not sure if this was just an isolated case, or something I did wrong myself, but I figured I would let everyone know just in case. Here is the code for the lazy ones:

    Code:
    python-switcher --python26

    ... anybody of You Great Guys out there would be able and willing to repackage/modify both original ISO files to support CUDA right from the beginning, & to get it up and running even from the Live-CD mode? (I guess that would be worth a "virtual gold medal & strong friendly handshake" from all of us BT5 "Infected" Nvidia fans! ...PLEASE! pls, pls
