I went back to the wiki, and I guess others have this issue too. It USED to list Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo as compatible. Now it says WiFi doesn't work.
I guess I have a new chipset. I'll keep trying to find a driver that works.

Thanks for all of the help yesterday as I was trying to get things going. Today has been much better. First off, I bought a Linksys WUSB54GC dongle. Why USB? Because it is on the HCL and will run in a VMWare machine.
So here is my setup: Macbook Pro with VMWare Fusion beta 3. Back|Track2 Final as a guest OS. Macbook uses it's internal WiFi, BT2 uses the USB WiFi (shows up as rausb0).
Everything appears to be working, even though I have not yet cracked anything. Now to go back to the How To's and geet 'er done.

the first thing I would test is injection as that is the main thing that fails in cards that seem to be compatable because they will go into monitor mode{i.e my compaque w/ internal broad com} but the will not inject. Visit the aircrack site for details on injection test
I cracked my first key. OK, it was my own 128 bit key, but hey, it counts!

cracking keys with out legal autherazation is against many laws in many countries
That's why I only cracked my own. :-) I intend to use this tool to find vulnerabilities in my networks and close them.
If you only want to crack WEP/WPA, why don't you use KisMAC??
