Yeah. Something is very wrong here.
    Code:
    airmon-ng start wlan0

Found 2 processes that could cause trouble.
If airodump-ng, aireplay-ng or airtun-ng stops working after
a short period of time, you may want to kill (some of) them!

    PID	Name
    709	dhclient3
    14665	dhclient3
Process with PID 14665 (dhclient3) is running on interface wlan0

    Interface	Chipset Driver

wlan0 AR9001/9002/9271 usb (monitor mode enabled)

    Alfa awus036neh rt2870/3070 1000mw

Ive been using this in bt4r2 and its been great the signal is super but in bt5 the signal is really low any ideas

The usually setup still reaps no rewards
    Code:
    iw reg set BO
    iwconfig wlan1 txpower 30
the power is now at 30 but the signal is not great compared what it use to be my sh*ty little pci edimax-7128g with a 5dbi antenna has more signal and picking up more AP'S than the alfa and it has a 9dbi antenna

what the hell ?? As far as I can remember the backtrack team patched it in bt4r2 and it was the fix after bt4 and it worked like a charm

can the mods or anyone tell where OR how to get this patch to get the signal its capable of

    Net2010 ???????????????????????????

with the Bluetooth error did it still compile and work for you as the signal is killing me and wounder will this compatible wireless pack increase it
    thanks

and tested again with BT5-GNOME-32 and is working here haw you use

    PHP Code:
    cd /usr/src/
    wget http://wireless.kernel.org/download/compat-wireless-2.6/compat-wireless-2010-04-20.tar.bz2
    tar jxvf compat-wireless-2010-04-20.tar.bz2
    cd compat
    -wireless-2010-04-20
    wget http
    ://patches.aircrack-ng.org/mac80211_2.6.32.2-wl_frag+ack_radiotap.patch
    cat mac80211_2.6.32.2-wl_frag+ack_radiotap.patch patch -p1
    make
    make install
    make unload
    modprobe rt2800usb
Followed all the steps you laid out, and everything went smoothly (no errors) but it just doesn't work. This is what I get:

    root@bt:~# airmon-ng start wlan0

    Interface Chipset Driver

    wlan0 Ralink RT2870/3070 rt2800usb - [phy0]
    (monitor mode enabled on mon0)

    root@bt:~# aireplay-ng -9 mon0
    23:29:45 Trying broadcast probe requests...
    23:29:47 No Answer...
    23:29:47 Found 0 APs
    root@bt:~#

And I know for certain there are AP's.. one being in my house! I have no problem getting this to work in BT4R2. So, I don't understand whats going wrong. Any suggestions?

edit: I use the latest VMware Player and have BT5 GNOME 32
    edit again:
I trashed all the BT5 stuff and started over... the awus036nh now works out of the box with my clean slate bt5 gnome 32!

in BT5 alpha awsuso36nh works so well with the default drivers and you can raise the frequency to 30db, the injection works! hello! (I tried was made with the 5db antenna locked up at home)
    iw reg Sept. BO
    iwconfig wlanx txpower 30
macchanger-m xx: xx: xx: xx: xx: xx wlanx
    airmon-ng start wlanx
    airodump-ng mon0
    aireplay-ng -9 mon0

I wonder why the AWUS036NH works out of the box for some lucky people and not for others.

Can I ask which version you installed? And is it virtual?

    Hello,

I'm trying to help out someone who has a AWUS036NH with BT5 .
lsusb shows : Bus 002 Device 005: ID 148f:3070 Ralink Technology, Corp.

    PHP Code:
    airmon-ng start wlan0
    Interface       Chipset         Driver

    wlan0           AR9001
    /9002/9271                usb (monitor mode enabled
But neither airodump-ng or aireplay-ng see any network (no error shown, just no networks).Ofcourse 1 network is very close.I killed the dhclient3 client hanging on wlan3, but still now networks.
But if he starts Wicd, he can see nearby networks (i only have a ssh connection to the laptop running bt5)

Now, i'm not sure, should this model use rt2870sta linux driver? Also airmon-ng should recognise it as AR9001/... ? Any tip?
