    Post Package Manager...where are all the packages?

    There were LOTS of tools that I used in BT4 that are no longer 'stock' in BT5. I tried to use the new package manager (KPackageKit) and nothing comes up. Are the repo's down or am I doing it wrong? I really don't want to have to apt-get for each tool I used.
    Setup:
    BT5-KDE on VMWARE 7.1.4
    OS= WIN 7

    I did install the Synaptic Package Manager but it seems that re repo's changed and most of the tools that were on there are gone. Anyone have an idea to how to get some of the old repo's?

    Not sure which tool(s) you are talking about here. Perhaps if you do not find the tool after using either "find" or "locate" and or using apt then perhaps you can make a request in the BT5 tool request section. Be advised however some tools were purposely removed due to various reasons.

    i think he is referring to apt....

    apt-get install <package name>
    apt-cache search <package name>

    That is correct. Whatever it was, is not worth reposting.

    Are you talking about the auto complete when doing an apt-get? Need to uncomment the three lines at the bottom of .bashrc .
    Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69
