First off not sure how all this posting works. I have always managed to get all the backtracks working on my laptop.
But BT5 is having problems at startX
First off I burned the KDE 64 to a CD when booting you can pick default and all them others. The only one that will boot up and start X with out any problem is is "default with no network card".
When working with the test CD I installed it with no problem.
When making my first boot with out the CD.
I dont get that the nice graphical load screen like grub I think that is what you call it.
Moving on , so I StartX and get all them nice Japanese writings and it crashes back to the console mode.
it will crash with one " 1 error xkbomp"
I Google the error and found its a keyboard problem .
Even tried adding a user nothing.
After a little searching what to do
I tried ( fix-splash) that did get the graphical page to start when booting.
But (fix-splash800) did nothing for me .
As well as every thing I could find on line about this problem nothing.
Also the way my internet is set up I can not down load or get on line tell I can get into X to start my free wifi. So Im running off the CD now tell I can solve this little problem.
this is my log file
