Thanks! Worked like a charm. Couldn't play youtube videos, but , when fixed this bug now able to play youtube videos. Thanks again.

solved initial message but i haven't sound(realtek)

did not work, followed the instructions to the T but still no sound... the audio settings are unlocked now... but no sound.... not from the built in speakers or the audio out port. i have an asus g51vx and im runing bt5 gnome 64bit, dual boot with vista and sound works fine with the windows OS partition....... any ideas?

Hey dude - i remember this vuln back in 2009,
Thus their have been alot of updates to the kernel and to the framework since then - this vuln applied to the old TAP drivers if im not mistaken
A similar google search before posting would revile that this was patched for Ubuntu back in 2008 PulseAudio set*id(). CVE-2008-0008 bug#185534
