This is a general issue (if you want to call it so) with VMware not Backtrack, but in short VMware sees your internal wireless card like an ethernet one. Also try VMware support or their IRC #vmware.
Wifi in VMware general questions
Hello all,
I am posted mainly out of curiosity, to find out why internal wifi cards aren't usable inside of VMware. (the technical reason)
Also I am curious to see if anyone has found a work around for this besides purchasing a usb dongle.
I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere in these forums, several hours of searching has broken my hopes of finding the answer on my own.
