Hello!

Man that's a pretty cool mod! Looks like you added your own externalconnector to the airlink card. So you can add a variety of antennas!

I have this same card after seeing it was one of the best bangs for the buck. I'd liek to do something similar to this, however i'd need a little bit of help.

Any possible picture/tutorial like combinations would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. so did your antenna help ya with injecting, iv collection, all that jazz?

All I did was add a female SMA connector to the leads comming off the board. SMA is pretty much a standard for wi-fi antennas nowadays for NIC's. Their strong, you can disconnect it / reconnect it way more than any other NIC card connector. And yes, I have several antennas that utilize SMA connectors, so thats why I opted to go with the female SMA And no, sorry but I dont have any more pics..and theres really no need for a tutorial. I feel that if someones not comfortable enough to open up their card...then they really have no business looking under its hood to mod it. Its really quite simple. Just take your time and have patience..and a steady hand.

Antenna was 15 bucks at frys..if you do a forum search here for homemade parabolic antenna...you'll see my antenna and a way to increase your true RX power! And its an atheros chipped card..so of course it injects and monitors EXTREMELY WELL!!

heres the final product and my specs... On the line feed, ( The top soldered wire pictured) you have to get an exacto knife and LIGHTLY scrape the green stuff off of the line feed untill you expose the copper colored line feed underneath it. Then just solder your center line to it.

I had A LOT of help from the people over at aircrack-ng to pull this off. Just giving credit where credit is due...ratez and alacrityathome were the 2 main helpers of my project.

Heres a look under the hood....

I know it was a sucky job Weedy. I had NEVER soldered on anything this small before. But it worked, and I got lucky. But thanks for the criticism. That strip line 50 ohm antenna feed was damn near microscopic...and I have a really good camera..so the amounts of solder I used look much larger than what I actually used.

What type of cable do I need to do this mod and where do I buy it?

Also, can you connect both of the antennas to one output?

i have an airlink101 10dbi onmidirectional antenna..15 bucks.

I used some spare Wi-Fi antenna extension cable to solder to the card to the female sma jack..and you need separate connectors for each side of the antenna if you plan on doing a dual antenna setup..I haven't done it yet with this card..but my last awlc4130 had dual antennas ..and I liked it. ..one directional..one omni. Excellent combo!

LMR400 if your insane about line loss or LMR100 for short pigtails. FabCorp is a good place to look.

Are you insane?? LMR400is WAY 2 thick for this little cards printed pcb..ohhh...unless you were talking about using it to connect to the SMA connection soldered to the card and not directly to the cards circuit board. lol..probably the later of this..lol..my bad. Ignore me I'm just frustrated with cowpatty jerking me around.
