can't login

(I tried posting this a few days ago, but it seems like it wasn't received)

I downloaded the usb drive version and installed it, but when I try to use it by writing: "login root" and with the password "toor" - it says: "login incorrect".

I know this might sound like a dumb question but just to make sure you're not actually typing "login root" instead of just "root" are you?

And if you're wondering, it's normal that "toor" doesn't show up on the screen in any form.
