Installing Backtrack on ext2 partition?

Hello,

While I appreciate the ease of installing Backtrack on a FAT32 partition, is there any way to install it to an ext2 partition so that it is hidden on a Windows OS (to prevent people from accidently wiping out files).

I'd like to install Backtrack on my USB thumbdrive so that (for example):
'sdb1' would be a FAT32 partition available on Windows and may be used to place commonly accessible files.
'sdb2' would be an EXT2 partition with Backtrack and I would be able to boot off this partition.

The partition schema that is used comes from untenbootin and not us. However you should be able to format a usb stick and use the live dvd to copy the file system over into the appropriate partition as well as set a boot partition on the usb stick and make it bootable. More detailed instructions for doing such are on the internet.

I bit the bullet and just followed the persistent usb installation instructions on http://www.infosecramblings.com/back...changesnessus/. Pretty straight forward.

Got Backtrack up and running with the boot OS on the FAT32 partition and the persistent saves on an ext3 partition. My only concern is journaling with the ext3 partition type (I heard it shortens the read/write lifespan on some thumbdrives).

Regardless, I like Backtrack a lot. A little different than Puppy Linux (4.3.1), but has a lot of potential. Thx again.
