Wired internet not working.

Hello. My wired internet on my Sony Vaio VGN-fs640 is not working. The wirless worked great ( ipw2200BG ) but i cannot use wired. I type ifconfig -a and i get lo and eth0 which seems to be my wireless. Any ideas on how to fix this would be great. Thank you.


( i really like this distro over ubuntu and fedora 6 so please help me take out the kinks. )

lo is loopback not wireless

what wired card do you use

have u got the driver
if yes, have you install it and type modprobe nameofyourdriver

if not find the linux driver for ur card
install it (configure,make,make install,depmod -a)
load driver (modprobe nameofdriver)
lsmod | grep nameofdriver to see if loaded
