google fnfx.
Sort of annoyed by this but in the older distros of BT I would close my lid which would cause my screen to go blank then I could proceed to restore it by simply pressing Ctrl + Alt + F1 then back to F7. This no longer works in the current distros. FN + CRT/LCD is no go. Any ideas and or solutions?

In KDE>settings >power control you can define action after lidclose
so you can try to change the settings , they go with ACPI, so you can try boot acpi=off and similar, but it would look like kernel 2.6.20 doesn't like your laptop.
In my case all BT versions blanked the screen , the same Ubuntu after the setup , but
SUSE happily switched off the computer after closing the lid, no curses helped.
None of the Above will work I am using a Dell Latitude D400.
Any other ideas? Even if I could just disable the actions all together.
