VLC might be able to do it. I dont think it comes included with BT so you may have to install it.
Hi,
I want to play an online streaming video file, in wma format. When i try to play that file, a window pops up asking which programe i want to use to play that file. Is that possible? If it is, what software and/or commands will I need? Thanks in advance.
PS. I use BT4 R2 on a usb stick.

Capitalisation is important. It's the difference between "Helping your brother Jack off a horse" and "Helping your brother jack off a horse".
The Forum Rules, Forum FAQ and the BackTrack Wiki... learn them, love them, live them.
You will probably also need to install restricted audio and video codecs along with vlc. I just used apt-get install vlc and apt-get install kubuntu-restricted-extras.

I've used 'mplayer' (in the repo's) to get streaming audio, not sure about streaming video
but perhaps worth a shot..
Thank you all for your reply. I already have VLC installed so i'll give a shot to what wh1t3fang suggested otherwise, i'll try mplayer.
One more question. When the window pops up asking which software i want to use to play that file, how do i choose VLC?
