Backtrack != Ubuntu
Please remember that.
Also regarding your problem, I suggest you run it in a virtual environment, that should work.

Hello-
Kept researching for an answer, but couldn't seem to find one.
I am using a IBM Thinkpad T43. I burned a copy of BT4r2 with ImgBurn (with the Verify check on, which passed). And tried to boot. I saw the screen which asks me which type of BackTrack I would like to boot to (Forensics, etc.).
However, as it started loading, a few seconds in a get a SquashFS error saying "failed to read block", then dumping me to a BusyBox Shell. Assuming it was a bad burn, I checked the ISO MD5 Sum, which passed and I burned another copy, which gave the same error.
The solutions I have found from other forum posts said to run "acpi=off" (which isnt recognized as a command after hitting tab from the screen mentioned earlier, but does seem to be accepted from the BusyBox shell). The only other solution is to see if Ubuntu 9.04 live disc will boot. I have an Ubuntu disc I had mailed to me from them, and it booted perfectly.
I'm not quite sure what steps to try next, but this seems to be a common error as there are many posts on the subject with no definitive answer. Is it possible this is a bug?

Tried it under VMWare Player, I saw the same error. This surprised me, as the MD5 Sum on the ISO is right ( its 9a94caa0e980a7331e9abc1d4c42c9a9 for BT4r2).
I'll go find a USB and see if that works. Thanks for all your help and congrats on your 1300 posts.
