Have you checked the wicd log for error messages to narrow down the problem?

Does anyone know why I am getting this error at start-up and how to fix it? Not sure how I got it in the first place, I just booted up Backtrack 4 R2 one day and it shows up like that everytime at boot at desktop.
I can close the error and still use WICD Network Manager and internet works , but the error at startup is kind of irritating. I tried to disable the dbus in the Boot-Up Manager but that results in disabling my mouse cursor after rebooting, and I get an warning or error at the backtrack splash screen about the dbus not being enabled or something like that.

Computer security is a temporary condition.
What about /var/log/wicd/wicd.log? I did some Googling and it looks like people with a similar problem had a parsing error in their .conf file. Might want to check that out. For reference I Googled, "could not connect to wicd's d-bus interface".
