    Default Samurai Web Testing Framework

    Afternoon all,

Now Iím a big backtrack fan, but my boss is now telling me he doesnít think Backtrack is the best suite to be using and thinks my training funds are better off else ware. He would like my interests invested into the Samurai framework suite.

Now this isnít necessarily a bad thing, but it would be great if some if not all the tools could me moved into backtrack to cover all areas of pentesting. Below is a link describing the tools for those that donít know what Samurai is.

Both BackTrack and Samurai are just collections of Open Source pentesting tools. Samurai is focused on web pentesting, but when I did a comparison of the two distros two years ago I found that most of the tools that I actually wanted to use on Samurai were already on BackTrack, plus BackTrack has a lot of stuff for network and wireless pentesting that Samurai doesn't. Of the two, Backtrack definitely provides a better tool coverage.

If there are tools missing from BackTrack that you would like, you should specifically list them here so they can be added. I'm pretty sure that BackTrack has the majority of the tools listed on that page you linked to.

Does your boss have any justification as to why Samurai is "better"?
Capitalisation is important. It's the difference between "Helping your brother Jack off a horse" and "Helping your brother jack off a horse".

The Forum Rules, Forum FAQ and the BackTrack Wiki... learn them, love them, live them.

With samurai you get siege, and gnome. Perhaps the nifty wallpaper.
Other than that BT has you covered. Maybe you can point your boss to this thread and let him know.
To be successful here you should read all of the following.
    ForumRules
    ForumFAQ
If you are new to Back|Track
    Back|Track Wiki
Failure to do so will probably get your threads deleted or worse.
