no sound intel snd-hda-instal dell mini 12 Backtrack 4 RC1

Here is how i enabaled sound on my dell mini 12 on Backtrack 4 RC1.

add those following lines to your :

/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

Code:

options snd-pcsp index=-2
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=basic

In my case this did not work.
My fix:

mv /etc/rc0.d/K50alsa-utils ~

this is to be sure this fix will work for you, if not you can always mv it back

Code:

alsamixer

make sure all levels are set to your prefrence, esp. the speaker output

then do

alsactl store 0
reboot

If that makes you happy, do

Code:

update-rc.d -f alsa-utils remove

This was done on an MSI Wind U100. It has the same module. Also worked on a Sony VPCEA24FM. All I have to test with at the moment.
