hd6850 drivers no supported adapters found

i have been trying to get my hd 6850 going with pyrit, and i cant get past the driver installation, when i finish installing the driver, i check to see if it installed properly, aticonfig --initial, and all i get is, no supported adapters found, ive tryed reinstalling bt to see if i may have messed something up, but same thing, and now im lost
