Is the wireless adapter internal or USB? internal wireless will not work in virtual environments. You can pass USB devices through the host to the guest OS however, which is how you can use wireless with vmware.
also, lsusb will list your usb devices, otherwise lshw is another you can use.

    Thank you for teh reply.

Why doesn't the internal card work with teh vmware image ? Will it work if i install bt in my hard disk drive?
I'd actually installed bt in my hard disk drive... but had trouble installing the drivers. Tht's wen i decided to use vmware image. I thot i my wifi card would work then without installing the drivers.

Actually ... am able to surf the internet using my wifi card in teh vmware itself...
But its jus tht airmon-ng , aircrack and some other tools aren't working ...

What do i do now? do i hav to buy a new usb wifi dongle or is thr a way i can work with the same internal wifi card which i've got?

    Thank u :-))

HDD install, or using the live dvd will allow you use the aircrack suite tools with your internal wireless, provided your chipset supports injection/monitor mode.
