    Firstly, I cant find where gns3 is. Secondly, /etc/gns3/gns3.ini is a configuration file which leads me to nowhere.

    Any advice?

    I've got some GNS3 howto's in the forum. I'm not seeing any problems with your installation output. GNS3 can be launched via terminal or from utilities menu

    Turns out it is under utilities. But how am I supposed to know where it is installed?

    dpkg -L gns3

    -> Closed

    Just to expound a bit on what KMDave already mentioned here, this info is also on the wiki.
    There is a small guide to using apt.
