how can i find the idle ip's in the network

i wanna to find the idle ip's on my network to make idle scan by nmap tool
the printer have idle ip
but how can i find the idle ips using command line !

Well if you don't know how to find idle IP's on a network you definately should start with some basics at first.

Get a copy of Ubuntu, install it, learn it and love it.
Also get a book about TCP/IP, DNS and other network topics. Once you know that stuff start using Backtrack and research the tools and how to use them. Most of them will be self explanatory once you learned the basics. Else they will just pose a too big distraction for you.

Not really the same question actually. That link you posted is about idle users in Linux, the OP is asking about detecting systems with an idle IP stack (e.g. systems that aren't communicating on the network very much).

@OP - Have you read about how the idle scan in nmap works? Do so now, right here. After understanding how the scan works, you should then know how an idle machine would react once you interact with it directly, and then you just need to find the most appropriate way of probing it and reviewing the results. There is one particular value in the response (or multiple response preferably) you need to look for and there are multiple ways you could choose to view it...

Note that Im not spoonfeeding here because the IDLE scan is an advanced scan type and you should understand how it works before you use it so you can interpret the results properly AND understand its limitations and the potential for errors.

i understanding the idle scan how work i was read paper about it
but i can't find any paper told how can i find the idle ips
