Trouble with Back Track 4 r2 on a usb drive

hey im trying to put bt4-r2 on a usb drive but for some reason when i try to boot off of the usb drive it just stays blank and doesnt boot up properly. ive run bt4-r1 persistently on the same usb drive in the past but for some reason this didnt work. i just used "Unetbootin" to install bt4-r2 to the usb drive because i am going to make a 8gb sd card my persistent back track 4 key.

any ideas what is going on?

i think im going to try using a burned copy of bt4-r2 and see if i can do it that way.
