xorg.conf is being depreciated, for the most part (at least, they are trying). however, if you create it, X should process it.

Need help changing my resolution in BT VMware.
I have BT VMware installed on my laptop and I am trying to change the resolution. I was trying to follow a few guides on the web, but I do not have the xorg.conf file, I don't even have the x11 folder under /etc. I don't know if this is because the type of video card I have (HD 5870 laptop version). Can anyone help me out with this issue?
I hate Google.

Did you download the VMWare Image of Backtrack or did you install it yourself in a VM?
