    Default Modem

Is it possible for backtrack to talk to the "operating sytem" of a sat modem the model number is hn 9000. Any advice and/or pointers would be helpful.

    To what end?
Capitalisation is important. It's the difference between "Helping your brother Jack off a horse" and "Helping your brother jack off a horse".

I guess I do not get your question. "to what end" Sorry I am new to this. I am wanting to access the firmware or base archetecture of the device.

Yes, although probably not in the way that you may be thinking. As Lupin asked, what do you want to do to/with the modem?

In this case "To what end?" means "Why do you want to do that?". The term "end" refers to an end result or an overall goal you wish to achieve.

That will learn me for trying to be concise...
