Default Problem getting ip when using wireless

    Hey!

So when i connect cable directly to laptop running backtrack 4, it finds ip address, and im able to use internet. But when i connect cable from wall to router and try to use wlan to connect to internet, it says its connected but ip is example. 192.168.0.108 so its local ip address, so wheres the problem cos when i didnt use router i got right ip address and was able to use internet?

I would focus on the networking part of the problem before you even start on the Linux part.
Computer security is a temporary condition.

This doesnt sound related to backtrack, nor have you provided the details needed to troubleshoot. You will have a difficult time with backtrack if you are unable to troubleshoot very basic network issues
