BackTrack and Netbook

Hey. I'm running BackTrack from flash drive and i'm experiencing problem with wi-fi card - BackTrack just doesn't see it. When i use /etc/init.d/networking start, it just says "no such device" and that's all. Any ideas how to solve this?

You will need to provide some more information (such as troubleshooting steps you have performed and the output of diagnostic commands) before people will be able to help you.

Also keep in mind that Backtrack is not Linux-Beginner friendly, and this forum sets its expectations accordingly. We assume that you already have some basic Linux skills before posting here. If not, there is a sticky thread in the Beginners forum you should peruse...

I had similar problems. What sort of card is it, you may need to update driver or it may not be supported. I still have problem when running /etc/init.d/networking start but this to do with the ethernet driver which i need to update.

Try running /usr/bin/start-network and then /usr/bin/wicd-client on
Otherwise look thru the forum. good luck
