This is why we tell people to search before posting... It's a known bug. If you look at the bottom of the page, on the "Similar Threads" section, you can find at least 2 threads about this issue. Google will give you some hundred more. Just google "airodump strange channel".

    Thanks ! I found this:

Sometimes airodump-ng show wrong channel when it found a network with hidden/invalid essid (ex.: <length: 0>).
This bug it's related to bad radiotap parsing,
the result it's a wrong converted value (133, 108, etc...)

BTW, I found a link with a macro that can convert the bad values to real ones. Haven't tested it, though. Here it is: #670 (airodump-ng: sometimes show wrong channel when network not have a valid essid)

I'm on ubuntu 10.10,and I found that airodump-ng and aireplay-ng didn't want to work Aireplay-ng gave me this error
    airodump-ng: Fixed channel to -1 = fixed channel mon0: -1
    .
Airodump-ng gave me that error as I sayed in the first post.

And here is the solution ,working on Ubuntu 10:10.

    wget http://wireless.kernel.org/download/...-10-16.tar.bz2
    tar -jxf compat-wireless-2010-10-16.tar.bz2
    cd compat-wireless-2010-10-16
    wget http://patches.aircrack-ng.org/mac80...g+ack_v1.patch
    patch -p1 < mac80211.compat08082009.wl_frag+ack_v1.patch
    wget http://patches.aircrack-ng.org/chann...ne-maxim.patch
    patch ./net/wireless/chan.c channel-negative-one-maxim.patch
    gedit scripts/update-initramfs
    #*** FIND LINE 13: KLIB=/lib/modules/2.6.31-wl/build
    #*** REPLACE WITH: KLIB=/lib/modules/$(uname -r)/build
    make
    sudo make install
    sudo make unload
    sudo reboot
    Sorry for bad English, again
