    Default NVIDIA driver problem

    Hi.
I'm trying to install nvidia driver to BackTrack 4 R2 (VMware Image). I'm using VMware Player to load it. I have a GeForce 9500 GT graphic card. I used the following command after killing x server:
    aptitude install nvidia-driver
    or
    apt-get install nvidia-driver
    I get the error:
    FATAL: NVIDIA module not found
Then I tried to install it by another way. I downloaded the linux driver from nvidia website and used the following commands after closing X.
    cd
    sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-260-19-29.run
    I get a the WARNING:
You do not appear to have a NVIDIA GPU supported by the 260.19.29 NVIDIA Linux graphics driver installed in this system.
Actually my nvidia card is enlisted in the README file as a supported card by linux driver.
I used the lspci to see my VGA. Here is what I get:
VGA compatible controller: VMware SVGA II Adapter
I also tried to install the driver in BackTrack 4 Final (VMare Image) but the results were the same.

Any help or idea would be appreciated.
    Thank you !

    P.S.
(I had to tell you that before asking this question I tried every answer or help Google could give me, but without any success)

When using a virtual machine you cannot use the Nvidia driver. Virtualized hardware can not access hardware directly on the machine. The same goes for internal wireless cards which is why we use USB wifi card with backtrack.
