    Default Dual booting issue

I'm having an issue installing BackTrack4 onto my laptop. When I come partitioning the hard drive so I can Dual boot, I set the size then accept, then It goes to like a “please wait screen” then comes up with an error so I can’t partition it off.

My hard drive has already got four partitions as it’s a Dell Laptop,
C; Drive with Windows 7 the I want to shrink so that BT can go on as there is 60GB free
D; is the recovery for Vista
And there are two other drives that are hidden
I have tried Gparted but the same error comes up.

I don’t know what could be the issue could be is it the fact I’ve for four partitions on one hard drive? Any advice would be appreciated

You have to tell us what the exact error is.

I do however suspect that it's the number of partitions you have. If memory serves, 4 is the limit.
